Frequently Asked Questions
Is the viewer free?
Yes. Every account is free, with all viewers, measurement, markup and sharing included. There are no paid plans.
Do I need to install CAD or BIM software?
No. Supported viewers run in your browser. Formats that require a commercial SDK or converter are clearly marked.
Can I upload without an account?
No. For security, every upload requires a verified account. Recipients of a share link can view without an account if the owner allows it.
How long are my files kept?
By default files expire 48 hours after upload. The viewer is free; for projects that need longer retention WORLD STEEL can grant a VIP exception.
Can WORLD STEEL staff see my files?
Administrators cannot open private file content by default. Any support access must be explicitly permitted and is audit-logged.
Is DWG supported?
Yes. DWG files (AutoCAD R13 to 2018 formats) are converted to DXF on the server when you upload them and open in the CAD viewer with layers, snapping and measurement. The server needs Node.js 18+ for the built-in converter; the format list shows whether it is active.
Does the AI read my files automatically?
No. AI analysis only runs when you enable it and confirm; the provider and data scope are shown before processing.
