File Retention Policy

Every uploaded file has an expiry time that is shown in your dashboard and the viewer.

Default

Files expire 2 days after upload completion unless a longer period applies.

Priority

1. File override (set by an administrator for a specific file)
2. User override (VIP exception granted by WORLD STEEL)
3. Account group policy (Free / VIP)
4. Global policy

What is deleted

The original file, previews, thumbnails, conversions, extracted data, AI results and annotations of the file. Share links and QR codes stop working immediately when the file expires.

Notices

You receive a notification before your files expire.
